Two large decks over the water and perfect reflections in the late afternoon make it hard not to relax. Read a book, absorb some vitamin D, sip a glass of wine or fish for silver perch in the dam. Branxton, our Muscovy duck, and the other water birds provide entertainment, while cranes, spoonbills, wood ducks and purple swamphens are seasonal visitors. A screened gazebo off the upper deck, soon to be covered with banksia roses, gives you extra shelter from the elements. In its own casuarina forest surrounded by a sea of blue plumbago, Casuarina Cottage is very private. French doors open out from the bedrooms to the sunny verandah and the gazebo at the back of the cottage is a perfect spot to dine or relax all year round. Lie back in the al fresco hot tub in winter and count the stars through the Casuarinas. Carved timber furniture, quirky cabinets & chests, warm rugs on a spotted gum floor and a huge teak bed with muslin curtains that give the Studio Cottage a romantic Bohemian atmosphere. There's even an easel and drawing supplies for the creative spirit. Sunset Ridge has rural views including vines, cattle, forest and the Brokenback Range. The bathroom is a special feature; with a slump glass wall and a large spa with a view. There's even a view from the loo! Tiled throughout, Sunset Ridge is spacious with a huge teak bed, a cosy lounge area and a truly interesting roof. Elevated more than three metres, Treetops Cottage puts you at eye level with the birds. From the bed, the corner spa or the surrounding balcony the view is casuarina forest and the blue sky above. Decor is modern, fresh and bright; the theme classic Australian timber and iron. The Guest Suite is the quiet end of the main building, with private entrance and parking. The verandah with a teak outdoor dining setting for 4 and steamer lounges is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine overlooking the garden and the billabong.
