Amidst an ambience of seclusion and serenity, Wild Edge Retreat is located approximately five minutes from the township of Wollombi and its village, located at the end of a private 2.8km private road. The retreat is sited on a ridgeline among a dense eucalyptus forest that overlooks the majestic Wollombi Valley and mountain ranges. Here you will find four luxury spa and pool spa pavilions, where the weary urbanite can embrace tranquility and totally relax. Each pavilion has been designed to frame its view of the expansive landscape below. The elevated pavilions are contemporary in style, and have interiors that take their inspiration from the pristine high country setting and have been created with its natural environment in mind.  

As the breathtaking sunsets unfold, you can sit on your private deck with a glass of chilled regional wine, and savour the delightful sounds and smells of the Australian bush.  In winter, curl up before a cosy fire and gaze at the mist- shrouded forests and valley. 

At twilight, myriad lights transform the forest into an entrancing night-time vista.  This is when many animals become active, and you can be entertained by scampering possums and frog symphonies. In the darkness of the evening night, all senses are heightened beneath a brilliant starlit sky, where on clear nights the Milky Way and shooting stars will enchant you with a mesmerising display.

Accommodation Features....

Recently completed, Wild Edge Retreat presently offers four contemporary freestanding Spa Pavilions: Whispering Forest, Nature's Mist, Earth Song and Wind Spirit. All offer spectacular views featuring an open-plan layout and extensive use of timber and glass. They are designed to take full advantage of the stunning views and create an inviting indoor/outdoor ambience. The warm, muted colours used in the interiors - chocolate, caramel, white and linen - echo the external natural materials: stone and timber.

The experience begins when you enter your private spa pavilion or private pool spa pavilion, scented with our specially blended aromatherapy oils. Later, you can luxuriate in your two-person hydrotherapy spa, while reveling in the breathtaking views outside your window.

To maintain the tranquility of Wild Edge Retreat and the privacy of our guests, there is no passing traffic or traffic within the retreat. Guests and their luggage are conveyed from the car park to their luxury pavilion in a motorised cart, via raised wooden walkways.

• WHISPERING FOREST - The first Spa Pavilion, Whispering Forest has tree-filtered valley views. It is meticulously presented and contains all the modern conveniences you could imagine. The open-plan layout and soft furnishings allow one to feel at peace with nature. It features an oversized bathroom with a two-person spa, along with bi-fold doors that open onto a generous timber deck that embraces the views.
• EARTH SONG - Follow the timber boardwalk to discover your very own private spa pavilion designed exclusively for two. The vast expanses of glass offer breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Broken Back Ranges. A Bose Stereo System extends into the New Zealand Stone bathroom. A built-in fireplace, a Hydrotherapy Spa bath and a rain shower await to indulge your senses. Natural coloured furnishings in caramel, linen, chocolate and green echo elements found in the outside surroundings. Be totally transfixed by the serenity of your private sanctuary and leave feeling relaxed and revitalised.
• NATURE'S MIST - WITH PRIVATE POOL - Nature's Mist is nestled next to a Eucalyptus Forest with stunning views of the Wollombi Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges. It is designed to blend in with its natural surroundings, providing almost total privacy. The finest linens and soft furnishings wait to envelop you and have you feeling like you never want to leave. In summer, plunge into your own private swimming pool in your timber deck and in winter be magically surrounded by morning mist as the sun greets the mountain-side.
• WIND SPIRIT - WITH PRIVATE POOL - The ultimate indulgence. Situated the furthest from the main Reception area, this spa pavilion is exclusive and is accessed by raised timber walkways. Open-plan in design, with a step-down living and bedroom area, the spa pavilion is appointed with luxurious furnishings and fixtures, including a Bose Stereo Sound System. The bathroom is created from New Zealand Stone and features a sunken Hydrotherapy Spa Bath for two and an oversized shower with a ceiling-mounted "rain shower". It has a large outdoor deck, a King-Size Day Bed with Muslin netting and an Affinity Glass Edge pool submerged into a timber deck.
